18th January 2006 - Quiz Night Our treasurer, Liessa Allan put the club members through their paces at the Quiz night, with both equine and general knowledge questions.
An enjoyable night was had by all, watch out for the date next year.
1st Feb 2006 - Club Meal The
meal was held at the Red Lion, Culross. Fantastic turnout this year, so
much so that we took up the whole of the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed
their meal and the chat afterwards.
2nd April - Drill Ride One of the first mounted outings for many of the club members. Ably directed by Liessa, similar to last years drill ride the horses were all a little fresh to start however they all soon got the hang of it.
A Tribute to Galeforce We've been saddened to hear of the loss of Galeforce (Gayle), our club secretary's much loved 34 year old mare, who many of you will remember seeing out and about competing with Julie.
She
had to be put down on 12th april aged 34 years. She took a twisted gut and
Julie rushed her through to vet college, they operated and she did
come through the anesthetic. Unfortunately other complications prevented
her from getting better. She lasted a week in hospital and then Our thoughts are with Julie at this sad time.
Member's Successes
New addition to the Turnbull family Gillian and Grant Turnbull have had a lovely baby boy on 28th April. He weighs in at 9lbs 4oz and both Mum and baby are doing well.
Cross Country Outings Some members have been out and about this spring attending various XC clinics and competitions. There have been members at Montrave and Craigie hunter trials and although there are no prizes won everyone has had enjoyable days.
Rosemary Dickson and Aileen Millar were at Scone Horse trials on 30th April. Aileen had a brilliant double clear and was 9th in her section. Rosemary fufilled a lifetime ambition to ride round Scone palace and was absolutely delighted with Bronte, despite a rider error causing an elimination XC.
If there are any members out there who have been out and about, please let us know and we can add it to the web site.
