Member Name : Liz Logan (Club President and one of the founding members of Glenbrae Riding Club)

Liz riding Laird of Logie at the Novice ODE in Hoker Hall, Cumbria Liz riding her current horse Clyde

What age did you start riding?  Between 3 & 4 years old on a black & white pony called Daisybell, which I shared with a neighbour

Most memorable horsey moment?   Winning the Foxhunter Qualifier for the Horse of the Year show at Kilmardinny in Glasgow.  This was against professionals and I was just pleased to be clear (only 1 of 6 clear rounds) and then was amazed to learn that I had the fastest time.

Another memorable moment was going to the Novice ODE at Hoker Hall in Cumbria.

Top equine tip?  When clipping your horse, run your finger through the coat backwards to get your lines, rather than using messy chalk or soap.

Dream Horse (imaginary or real)?  My dream horse was my own Laird of Logie.  He was a 15.3hh Chestnut gelding who came to me with no competition experience.  We went on to event and show jump successfully including winning many trophies in the riding club. He was my partner in my two memorable moments.

Favourite equestrian discipline?  Cross Country for the sheer thrill of it!

Great Escape (ideal non horsey day)?   A day spent watching the Rugby (my son Kenny played for Scotland), Tennis or really any other sporting activity.
